We are proud to announce that German distribution system operator Netze BW has chosen the solutions from Heimdall Power for a new Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) project.

The Heimdall Power Neurons have already been installed in a key part of Netze BW’s grid in Baden-Württemberg, located in the southwestern parts Germany. As the largest grid company for electricity, gas and water in the state, Netze BW operates almost 95,000 km of high-, medium- and low-voltage grids and supplies around 2.4 million customers.

Through the project, Netze BW will use real-time data from the Neurons to gain greater visibility into actual line conditions and available capacity, exploring how Dynamic Line Rating can support more efficient utilization of existing grid infrastructure.

Netze BW becomes Heimdall Power’s 13th customer in Germany, a market where we continue to see strong growth and increasing adoption of Dynamic Line Rating.

“Germany continues to be a key growth market for Heimdall Power, and welcoming our 13th customer is an important milestone for us. Grid operators across the country are looking for ways to integrate more renewable generation and meet growing electricity demand while making the most of the infrastructure already in place. We are very pleased to welcome Netze BW as a customer and look forward to working closely with their team,” says Gerhard Biedenbach, Growth Manager at Heimdall Power.

The collaboration with Netze BW further strengthens Heimdall Power’s presence in Germany and reflects the growing role of Dynamic Line Rating in helping grid operators increase capacity and improve visibility across their existing networks.
