We are proud to announce that Heimdall Power has been selected as one of the winners for Statnett’s new Dynamic Line Rating tender.
Following the bid decision earlier this year, the first phase of the project was initiated this week, with further deployments planned later in the year.
Statnett is the TSO in Norway, operating a Transmission grid of about 11 500 kilometers across the whole country. This new project builds on their previous work with both weather stations and DLR sensor, as they aim to reduce bottlenecks and get more out of the existing grid.

The first Neurons were installed safely and swiftly on a live 300kV overhead line with Heimdall Power’s autonomous drone installation system. See video below.
This new project is another addition to Heimdall Power’s already long list of Norwegian customers, including Elvia, BKK, Tensio, Fagne and more.

Jørgen Festervoll, CEO of Heimdall Power described the new project:
To have Statnett as a DLR customer is something we have been working towards for many years, and I’m both proud and excited to see that it is now happening! We’ve already installed the first units and I’m really looking forward to following the progress and results from this project over the coming years.
