Following an initial pilot project started last year, Heimdall Power is proud to announce that we are expanding our existing project with one of the leading German DSOs, Westnetz.
Just half a year after starting their maiden DLR project last spring, Westnetz is now adding more physical Neurons from Heimdall Power to their grid. With multiple units soon going to be installed in a key line of Westnetz’ grid.
Head quartered in Dortmund, Westnetz is one of Germany’s largest distribution system operators, managing approximately 175,000 kilometers of power lines across North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Lower Saxony. Like multiple other Heimdall Power customers (Bayernwerk, Schleswig-Holstein Netz, E.DIS and more), Westnetz is also a part of the E.ON Group, one of the largest energy companies in Europe.
Senior Growth Manager at Heimdall Power, Gerhard Biedenbach, shared his excitement about the project expansion:
«It’s always great to welcome new customers to the Heimdall Power family, but seeing our existing customers coming back to increase the size of their projects is perhaps even better. I want to give credit to Westnetz for being very agile in their approach, which has enabled them to quickly get good, actionable results out of the unique Dynamic Line Rating solutions we provide at Heimdall Power.»
