PG&E Powers Ahead on Breakthrough Grid Innovation with Heimdall Power

This week, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) announced the successful launch of the Heimdall Power solution as part of a Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) and asset health monitoring pilot. The utility is exploring how Heimdall Power can help it optimize transmission line capacity and proactively monitor asset health across its 70,000-square-mile service area in northern and central California.

With Neurons installed and data dashboards now live, PG&E is testing three solutions, including Heimdall Power’s, as part of ongoing efforts to reduce congestion, enhance reliability, and prepare California’s grid for the challenges of extreme weather and the growing demand for renewable energy.
