# Heimdall Power

> Heimdall Power is a grid optimization technology company that helps electric utilities unlock more capacity from existing power lines. It offers both hardware and software: Neuron smart sensors and autonomous drone installation, together with virtual sensors and the cloud-based Heimdall Platform. Together they deliver Dynamic Line Rating (DLR), Ambient Adjusted Ratings (AAR), Facility Ratings and real-time situational awareness for transmission and distribution grids.

Products:

- **Neuron**: a self-powered, spherical smart sensor mounted directly on high-voltage power lines (7 to 550 kV). Weighs 3.5 kg (7.8 lbs). Measures current (0 to 3000 A), conductor temperature, sag, inclination, ice buildup, line movement and environmental data. Operates from -40°C to +200°C on conductors 7 to 40 mm in diameter. Connects via satellite (Iridium), NB-IoT or LTE-M and supports firmware-over-the-air updates.
- **Autonomous Drone Installation System**: installs a Neuron on a live line in about 10 seconds, with no outage, including in remote or hard-to-reach areas.
- **Virtual Neuron**: software-based virtual sensors that use machine learning trained on physical Neuron data and weather data. Deploys instantly and scales at low cost. Aligned with CIGRE, IEEE and FERC Order 881 methods.
- **Heimdall Platform**: cloud-native application for real-time grid monitoring with AI-powered forecasting of ampacity and conductor temperature (up to 72 hours for DLR, 10 days for AAR). Integrates with SCADA/EMS. Hosted in Microsoft data centers, with self-hosting available.
